Eating more slowly
While my eczema isn't severe, I've suffered from it since childhood, and my symptoms are easily swayed depending on what I eat.
And when I'm tired, it's difficult to alleviate the itching regardless of what I eat.
However, I've felt that my skin has been consistently better in the past two months, ever since I received some orthodontic treatment (totally unrelated to my eczema). Intrigued, my thought process went something like this: eating speed is much slower --> food is digested more slowly --> intestinal health is improved --> skin improves? This seemed like a reasonable possibility, especially as I've always been a fast eater.
While it's obvious that your condition might worsen if you indulge in excessive snacking, this has helped me to realize that the speed at which you eat also has a big effect on your digestive system.
Although this specific situation arose from an orthodontic procedure, I hope that it can serve as a tip to help other sufferers.
As long as you remain aware, you can practice this anywhere! It's free to chew your food well!
Even if you eat more slowly, it's meaningless if you still eat too much.
